Prof development

Can professional development be individualized?  At their own pace?  Everyone starts ina  place and works towards a goal?

new teachers join the ranks and begin at the beginning?

How about adaptations?  changes to the procedure?  Maybe that is what the "Level 4" teachers work on when they get "there".

Random thoughts.

Teachers number 1 complaint (almost universally is time). I believe that time is something we cannot control, but our efficiency is something we can control.

A new principal seems to have a small window to get things moving in the building...some say observe first, but if you are not new to the district then action needs to be taken (first few years, not days...)

Effective teachers should be open to re evaluate their course each year...instead of doing it once and keeping it that way....BUT leaders need to account for the fact that it does take a lot of hard work to complete it that first time.

Same problems in every school

Assessment quandary:
Premade assessments are easy to use, but can be invalid
Takes time and skill to wirte assessments that are valid for the school
     Assessments 101 course for PD?
